Marlin Schmidt was born and raised in Alberta, calling Hanna his hometown. He has a Master's degree in hydrogeology and specializes in remediating contaminated sites. A proud public servant, Schmidt has worked for the past six years for Alberta Environment, protecting the soil and groundwater of our province for future generations. Prior to that, he worked in the upstream oil and gas industry as an environmental consultant.
Schmidt is passionate about building a modern, progressive Alberta that uses its wealth to provide better education, proper health care and equal opportunity for all citizens.
He is an avid cross fit trainer and a member of the United Church. Since the last election, his skills on the accordion have improved greatly, and he has even gotten the occasional job performing in public.
