Michael Connolly is a passionate young leader and proud Albertan who was born and raised in Calgary.
His priorities are to create good, middle-class jobs through hiring incentives for small businesses, advocate for safe spaces for minority and vulnerable students as well
as adequate resourcing for public education, and modernize – not privatize – public health care to improve frontline services.
After graduating from École Dr. E.P. Scarlett High School, he began attending the University of Ottawa to pursue studies in history and political science.
While in Ottawa, Connolly gained valuable experience by interning in the parliamentary office of another young New Democrat, Manitoba MP Niki Ashton. There, he helped organize the NDP Women's Forum that brought young women leaders from all over Canada together to build solutions to inequality and discrimination.
