NDP proposes Twitter Tax

EDMONTON - Today, New Democrat Leader Rachel Notley proposed a Twitter Tax that would see Albertans cough up extra cash for a service they’ve been using for free for years.

“I want to make something very clear, the money that is raised through this tax will not be put toward making Twitter run more efficiently. It’s going to be the same old Twitter, Albertans are just going to pay for it, now,” said Notley

“We need to ensure that those who use Twitter the most, like the Alberta Party, are the paying their fair share.”

At the same time that the Twitter Tax is implemented, characters per person will be dramatically cut from 140 to 70.

“Albertans have had the very best of social media for far too long. It’s time that we tighten our belts and tweet within our means,” said Notley.
