Oneil Carlier was born and raised in Val Marie, Saskatchewan where his family has raised cattle and grown crops for several generations. He moved to Alberta in 2002 and has lived in Whitecourt Ste. Anne since 2010 with his wife Michèle.
Before moving to Alberta Carlier worked for twenty years with Agriculture Canada as a Geotechnical Technician. It was there that he become involved with his union, the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC). The Labour movement has allowed Carlier to become an advocate for not only worker’s rights but also social justice issues as well.
Since 2002 Carlier has worked as a Regional Representative with the PSAC, a position that enables him to help protect working families’ rights on a full time basis.
