Make a Plan to Vote NDP September 3rd
1. Pick a time to vote
On election day, September 3rd you can cast your ballot from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Make sure to think about all your commitments in advance and pencil in a specific time to vote during your day.
Note that the section 132 of the Election Act requires that employees be provided with three consecutive hours to vote on election day.
2. Learn where to vote
Go to Elections Alberta's website to find your polling station. Advance poll locations are on the same page. Be sure to check your polling location, as it may have changed since you last voted, and even in the cities you may have to travel more than a kilometre to vote.
3. Make sure you have your required ID.
If you haven't received your voting card in the mail, don't worry - you can still vote with a government-issued ID with your photo, name and current address. If you don't have government-issued ID, you can still vote with two pieces of authorized identification.
4. Arrange transportation
Make sure you have a plan to travel to your poll. If your polling location has changed since you last voted, don't leave this to the last minute. It may take longer to travel to your polling location than expected. Carpool with your friends. Call 403-827-3841 if you need a ride.
If you didn't vote at an advance poll, be sure to arrive at your polling station early on September 3rd. With such a high level of interest in this election, arriving early will help you avoid waiting in line.
