Alberta is in a housing crisis and the UCP have refused to show action and leadership. Soaring rents are having a devastating impact on too many Albertans, and we need emergency action.

That is why the Alberta NDP is proud to introduce a bill in the legislature that would provide renters stability, a chance to catch their breath, and aim to make sure every person who calls Alberta home - now and in the future - can have an affordable place to call home.

The Housing Security Act will put a temporary cap on rent increases in the province and increase reporting requirements to ensure the province is meeting housing targets.
