Marg McCuaig-Boyd nominated as NDP candidate in Central Peace-Notley

FAIRVIEW – Central Peace-Notley NDP members sent a clear signal of support, acclaiming Marg McCuaig-Boyd as their candidate in the next provincial election.

The long-time educator, post-secondary executive and small business consultant has a proven track record as their MLA since 2015, successfully fighting alongside Premier Rachel Notley for good-paying jobs, a pipeline to get top dollar for our oil, and a more diversified economy that works for everyone.

“I’ve been so proud to fight for the needs of this region at the Legislature and serve in an NDP caucus that’s on the side of everyday Albertans,” McCuaig-Boyd said. “We’re making life better for families by ensuring our kids learn in good classrooms while our loved ones and seniors have access to the care that they need.”

McCuaig-Boyd and the NDP have stood up to calls for deep cuts to vital public services and cleaned up years of PC waste and corruption, while making important investments to repair aging infrastructure and fighting rural crime.

“Jason Kenney’s UCP twice voted against funding for rural crime-fighting RCMP officers and have refused to support us in fixing the crumbling roads and bridges that are critical for keeping our rural communities moving,” she said.

“Kenney’s scheme for a massive tax giveaway to the rich would mean cuts to seniors care, firing teachers and nurses, and harm Alberta’s economic recovery. They’re not on Alberta’s side.”
