Re: MLA Strankman’s endorsement of candidate with homophobic views
Dear Mr. Kenney,
We are writing to inform you of developments within your party that require your attention.
It seems clear now that the UCP’s “Bozo Eruption Squad” is overworked. They have got a big job.
So, we would like to help. We draw your attention to Sandra Kim.
Ms. Kim has declared her intention to be the candidate for your party in Maskwacis-Wetaskiwin.
You may be interested to know that Ms. Kim has regularly shared her anti-LGBTQ and Islamophobic views on social media. You can find them here:
You may also be interested to know that despite you saying that those with extremist views are not welcome in your party, one of your MLAs is welcoming Ms. Kim with open arms.
I point you to Ms. Kim’s website, wherein UCP MLA Rick Strankman offers Ms. Kim his enthusiastic endorsement.
Ms. Kim’s “dedication and innovative ideas make her a strong asset. It is with great pleasure that I give my endorsement to Sandra Kim as a nomination candidate for the riding of Maskwacis-Wetaskiwin.” (https://sandrakim.ca/endorsements)
Given your stated commitment to rooting out those with hateful views from your party, I trust you will take immediate action to disqualify Ms. Kim.
And given it’s clear that some members of your caucus aren’t taking your direction to heart, perhaps it’s time to remind them that you are the Leader.
