Join us in Red Deer on June 20th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm for our Appeal to Reason Fundraiser. Over the past year, the Alberta government has repeatedly undermined the institutions that uphold our democracy — from invoking the notwithstanding clause, to weakening the authority of the Law Society and Elections Alberta, to retroactively changing petition rules while enabling separatist efforts.
These actions represent a troubling pattern of disregard for the rule of law and the independence of our legal and democratic systems.
The Appeal to Reason Fundraiser is for members of the Alberta legal community and their guests, regardless of political background, who share a commitment to responsible, lawful governance.
There is no cost to attend, but as this is a fundraiser, we ask that guests come prepared to contribute to the Red Deer South NDP Constituency Association.
All guests will have the opportunity to meet special guests. Contributions do not provide preferential access or influence over elected officials. Location for this event will be shared a few days before the event.
