Diana Batten knows what it means to work hard: She grew up working in her family's store and became a small business owner at nineteen. Her early years shaped a career built on service: research scientist, registered nurse, public health nurse, educator. Diana has spent years on the front lines of a healthcare system she believes in and continues to fight to preserve it.
In 2023, she won Calgary-Acadia from the UCP in a judicial recount, defeating former Health Minister Tyler Shandro. Since then, she has served as Shadow Minister for Children and Family Services, holding this government to account for its failure to protect Alberta's most vulnerable kids. She has challenged a system that too often leaves children in care behind, and demanded the accountability that families deserve.
Diana knows the issues facing Acadia's families aren't abstract. They're personal.
Diana Batten is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.
