Irfan Sabir is a lawyer, a lifelong human rights advocate, and is proud to represent Calgary-Bhullar-McCall as their MLA since 2015.
Born in Kashmir and calling Calgary home since 2004, Irfan brought a deep commitment to justice and equity to the legislature from day one. As Minister of Community and Social Services under the Notley government, he introduced the Alberta Child Benefit and ensured AISH kept pace with inflation. He holds Masters degrees in Economics and Social Work, as well as a law degree from the University of Calgary, and has volunteered with Red Cross Canada, Calgary Legal Guidance, and the Asian Human Rights Commission.
As Shadow Minister for Justice and Deputy House Leader, Irfan holds the UCP accountable on the rule of law, government accountability, and the rights of every Albertan.
Irfan Sabir is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.
