Jodi Calahoo-Stonehouse, Cree and Mohawk from Michel First Nation, made history in 2023 when elected to the Alberta Legislature. Before taking her seat, she spent decades building stronger communities: founding Miyo-Pimatisiwin Productions and producing Acimowin, an award-winning Indigenous radio program; leading the Yellowhead Indigenous Education Foundation; and earning international recognition for her anti-racism work with the Edmonton Shift Lab. She also served three years on the Edmonton Police Commission and two terms as a councillor for her Nation.
As Shadow Minister for Forestry and Parks, Jodi has held the UCP accountable for wildfire preparedness, rural services, the precious resources that are our land and water, and the communities this government has too often abandoned.
Jodi Calahoo Stonehouse is ready. Alberta's New Democrats are ready.
