Joe Ceci is a proud Calgarian who was re-elected in 2023 for his third term in the provincial legislature. Currently Joe serves as Shadow Minister for Arts and Culture.
Beyond his role as an MLA, Joe is well-known for dedicating more than 30 years of service to strengthening Calgary’s communities and citizens. He was elected as a City of Calgary Alderman from 1995-2010. After 15 years as an Alderman, he became a public policy manager with Momentum Community Economic Development.
From 2015 to 2019, Joe served as Alberta’s Minister of Finance and President of the Treasury Board, where he played a key role in shaping provincial fiscal policy during challenging economic times.
Joe has received multiple awards in recognition of his devotion to the City of Calgary, including:
• Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal
• Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Medal
• The King’s Coronation Medal
• Alberta Centennial Medal
