Before getting elected in 2023, Nagwan spent 15 years in the energy sector in oil and gas, as well as oil sands at TotalEnergies. She worked at the Energy Futures Lab, and her last job was the Director of the Business Renewables Centre Canada, where she worked on advancing large-scale renewables in Alberta.
Nagwan believes in strengthening our economy by attracting investment and talent to Alberta while creating well-paying jobs, slashing emissions, and protecting our environment. Nagwan holds two degrees from the University of Calgary, including a Master’s of Science in Sustainable Energy Development. She speaks three languages (English, French, Arabic).
Avenue Magazine named her to Calgary’s Top 40 under 40 list in 2022, and in 2023, the Globe and Mail named her one of the 50 Changemakers and emerging leaders reinventing how Canada does business.
Nagwan is a wife and mother to two young boys and the proud MLA of Calgary-Glenmore.
