RED DEER - The Alberta NDP has officially nominated Angela Sommers as its candidate for Red Deer- North.

Angela Sommers knows what’s at stake for Alberta families. A small business owner and school trustee, she has spent years fighting for stronger communities across Central Alberta.

“Families in Red Deer are being asked to do more with less, and they deserve a government that understands what they’re going through,” said Sommers. “As a mother, small business owner, and school trustee, I’ve seen the impact that rising costs, strained public services, and uncertainty can have on everyday people. I’m ready to stand up for Red Deer-North and bring forward practical solutions that help families get ahead.”

Sommers’ firsthand experience navigating Alberta’s education and healthcare systems strengthened her belief that every family deserves accessible healthcare, strong public education, and a government that delivers on affordability.
