EDMONTON – The Alberta NDP has officially confirmed nine more nominated candidates, bringing the party's total to 14, as it continues to build its team ahead of the next provincial election.
The following candidates have now officially been nominated since our last update on March 8:
Among the newest nominees is Bev Toews, an educational assistant and community leader from Olds, who becomes the first non-incumbent nominated in this cycle. Toews previously ran in the 2025 Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills by-election.
"I am a proud Albertan and a proud Canadian, and I say that without hesitation," said Toews. "In the last by-election, voters in our riding sent a clear message: separatism will lose in Olds-Didsbury-Three Hills. I am running because every community in rural Alberta deserves a representative who will fight for jobs, for health care, and for our place in this country- not gamble with it."
"These are exactly the kinds of candidates Albertans are looking for," said Naheed Nenshi, Leader of the Alberta NDP. "Strong, proven leaders and passionate community members who are out there every day, listening and fighting for a better Alberta. While the UCP stays focused on the wrong priorities after seven years in power, we are building a team that is ready to deliver the better government Albertans deserve."
