Barb Miller was first elected on May 5th, 2015 as the MLA for Red Deer-South. She currently serves as a member on several of the Legislature's committees, including the Standing Committee on Families and Communities, the Standing Committee on Public Accounts, and the Standing Committee on Privileges and Elections, Standing Orders and Printing.
Prior to being elected, Barb was a union steward for the United Food and Commercial Workers local 401. She served as Vice President for Central Alberta on the union's Executive Committee. Barb also served on her union's health and safety, and women's committees.
Barb was also President of the Red Deer and District Labour Council and she has sat on the Executive Council of the Alberta Federation of Labour.
Barb is a community minded volunteer who has assisted with the point-in-time homeless count, and is a strong advocate for the elimination of homelessness.
