Deron Bilous was re-elected on May 5th, 2015, to serve his second term as the MLA for Edmonton-Beverly-Clareview. On October 22nd, 2015 he became the Minister of Economic Development and Trade.
Deron was born and raised in Edmonton and is proud of his Ukrainian ancestry. He holds a Bachelor of Education degree from the University of Alberta. Before being elected, Deron taught and mentored students at Edmonton's Inner City High School and was active in his community of Beverly Heights.
From 1995 to 2005, Deron was involved with several projects for the Canada World Youth program, a volunteer youth program focused on international development. His work with Canada World Youth took him to Quebec, Tunisia and China.
Deron lives in the Beverly area of Edmonton with his wife Rose and his stepchildren.
