Alberta New Democrat MLAs are hitting the road this summer to connect with communities across the province and stand up against Danielle Smith’s separatist agenda.
“Danielle Smith’s separatist agenda puts everything at risk — investments, jobs, and the everyday systems we rely on like health care,” said Naheed Nenshi, leader of Alberta's New Democrats. “That’s not leadership; it’s self-serving recklessness.”
The Better Together Summer will see Alberta New Democrat MLAs travelling Alberta to knock on doors, host town halls, attend local events, and hear directly from Albertans.
“Albertans are proud of this country, and they deserve a government that feels the same,” said Nenshi. “They want leadership that builds bridges, not walls.”
With the UCP pushing divisive policies like exiting the Canada Pension Plan, replacing the RCMP, and lowering the threshold for a referendum on separation, Nenshi says it’s more important than ever to show up and listen.
“This summer is about connection, hope, and reminding Albertans they’re not alone,” said Nenshi.
“When we lead with hope and show up for each other, that’s when Alberta is at its best.”
