Oneil Carlier

Oneil Carlier was first elected on May 5th, 2015 as the MLA for Whitecourt-Ste.Anne. He became the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry on May 24th, 2015.  Mr. Carlier has also served as Deputy Government House Leader.

Prior to being elected, Oneil was a regional representative with the Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC) for 13 years.  He has spent over 20 years as a geotechnical technician with Agriculture Canada.  Oneil also served as a board member for the Saskatchewan Housing Authorities from 1996 to 1999.

Oneil received a certificate from the Labour College of Canada in 1997.  He volunteered with Scouts Canada for over a decade, acting as Scout leader.

Oneil was born and raised on a farm in Val Marie, Saskatchewan, he has lived in Alberta for over a decade.  He and his wife Michèle have lived in the Whitecourt-Ste. Anne riding since 2010.
