An Alberta NDP government will introduce the Healthcare Innovation Challenge Fund, investing $75 million over the next three years to modernize our healthcare system.

The Healthcare Innovation Challenge Fund is a groundbreaking initiative by the Alberta NDP, and is the first of its kind in the province. Through the fund, the Alberta NDP will invest an initial $75 million over the next three years to prioritize the procurement, scaling, and deployment of innovative solutions in healthcare settings across Alberta Health Services.

From operating rooms to outpatient clinics, it will help us find innovations that improve patient outcomes, reduce wait times, and lower costs. By simplifying the pathway to procurement, we will also empower our talented entrepreneurs to access support with scaling and deployment.

The Alberta NDP is committed to restoring the quality of healthcare in this province, ensuring that it remains public, accessible, and free.

Our healthcare commitments include providing free contraceptives, ensuring access to a family doctor for an additional 1 million Albertans, and improving emergency response times.
